Catch Rate Leaders — and Why Catch Rate Is Nearly Meaningless
Catch rate repeats at 0.19 between halves of the same season. A receiver who caught a high share of his targets in the first half of a year tells you very little about the second half.
Who catches the highest share of what is thrown at them?

What this number is worth
Catch rate is mostly a property of the THROWS, not the catcher: a player fed short, high-percentage targets will post a high rate whoever he is. Good hands are real; they are a small part of this number.
Do not treat a high catch rate as a skill you can project forward, and be suspicious of any argument that leans on it. The usage underneath -- targets, target share, snaps -- repeats four to five times better.
