Use Slate Stats in Claude and ChatGPT

Our data is available to AI assistants as a connector. Add the address below and your assistant can ask the research this site runs on — who gains when a player sits, injuries, team measures, season leaders and the measured studies — and every answer comes back with its sample size and window. It is free, read-only and needs no account.

The address

https://api.slatestats.com/mcp

Connect it

Claude (claude.ai or the desktop app): open Settings, then Connectors, choose Add custom connector, and paste the address. No sign-in is needed.

ChatGPT (paid plans): in Settings, under Apps & Connectors, turn on Developer mode in the advanced settings, then create a connector with the address and no authentication.

Claude Code, in a terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http slatestats https://api.slatestats.com/mcp

Menus in both apps change; if yours differs, look for “custom connector”.

Things to ask

  • Who benefits if CeeDee Lamb sits — in catches and receiving yards?
  • For every starter on this week’s injury report, who absorbs the work?
  • Who leads the league in targets this season?
  • How many more carries does the backup get if the 49ers’ starting running back is out?
  • What has Slate Stats measured about whether touchdowns repeat?

What it can do

ToolWhat it answers
leadersWho leads the league in a counting stat this season — receptions, targets, receiving yards, carries, rushing yards or touchdowns.
teamOne team's own numbers: what the STAFF chooses (pass rate over expectation, raw pass rate, plays a game), what it scores and allows, what its defense concedes by position, and the same measures season by season.
cascadeIf this player sits, whose projections move and by how much.
injuriesWho is on reserve or carrying an injury designation, optionally for one team (use the team abbreviation).
studyA measured finding with its sample size.
resolveTurn a partial or misspelled name into a player.

What it does not do

It does not give our projections or rankings — those are on this site’s pages — and it gives no odds, lines or betting picks. Nothing it returns is advice. It cannot see your league or roster. Projections are conditional on a player appearing, and a player whose game has kicked off carries none.

Calls are counted by tool name, with the name of the app that connected; nothing about who you are or what you asked is kept. Privacy policy. Each address is limited to 30 calls a minute and 500 a day.
